Dear reader,
Humble greetings from The Palace, a structure somewhere upstate surely surrounded by naiads and dryads. Kelsea sleeps in front of the fire after working hard to craft her Floam into the word “getaway.” Mason is kneading dough, because they bake bread from scratch for fun. Christian is lounging, lightly tripping by the window, delighting himself with each song he’s queued up. I told him something that’s really fun to do on acid is to restock firewood from the garage, and I was surprised to see that he seems genuinely excited by the idea.
To round off the snapshot: Angel and Lulu are in a meeting upstairs, Ezra and Rachel are sprawled out on the couches getting work done, Amana is plotting in her white fuzzy hat, Allyson and Julia are testing transitions with the CDJ, Charlie is walking down the stairs, and Ashley, Sabina, and Linus are currently unaccounted for. There’s a bubbling hot tub, a mini-trampoline someone dragged inside, and like, stars and shit.
In the past twenty-four hours, I’ve learned that Floam is actually sort of a disappointment and that I enjoy the music of Deadmau5. In the coming twenty-four hours, there will be walks in nature, a banquet, many singalongs, and who knows what else? Happy New Year everybody, I hope that your New Year’s was as good as mine. Everyone seems to be in agreement…2023 is going to be a good one.

Oh My Rockness has named my project as one of the hardest-working bands of 2022. To celebrate we’ll be joining other hard-working bands at our home base, Baby’s All Right, on Friday the 6th. I don’t know the other bands, as we seemingly have nothing in common other than that we’ve all played a lot of shows. But I can tell you that we’re sharing a bill with a band called Tits Dick Ass, and I can’t say I’m not curious to see what that’ll look like. We will combat the night’s heavy rock vibes with elegance, bringing piano, cello, and sax back to the stage.
