Last week I released my album, French Bath. Before Friday, I kept having to remind myself the release was happening—I’ve been so hyper-focused on completing the many tasks in front of me that it was easy to forget what those tasks were surrounding. Plus, the last time I can remember releasing a significant body of work happened during the pandemic. Live music hadn’t yet made its return, and online interactions, although fun, have never felt all that real to me. Releasing music during that time didn’t really change much about how my days unfolded.
